quality control

A method of quality assurance, usually involving random inspections.

This term may also refer to procedural frameworks that ensure the quality of a product or service in each phase of its production. These include supervision, evaluation and monitoring of the quality of supervision, generally accepted standards of production, design, and inspection, and consideration of past compliance. Like quality assurance, quality control often incorporates the use of statistical measures as well. Quality control also encompasses the rectification of deviances from the established norms.
