Information obtained for the purpose of analysis that is not used for the purpose of quantitative analysis.
This type of research is not analyzed within a formulaic framework or used to make projections. It consists of unquantifiable information such as characteristics and is often used in conjunction with quantitative research to develop a more complete understanding of its subject.
Some types of qualitative research include management expertise, industry cycles, strength of research and development, and labor relations. In terms of forex trading specifically, information about the economic policies of a country's government or relevant legislation may be helpful in determining trading strategies.
