The figure includes non-financial assets owned in the various sectors of the economy and of financial claims outstanding. The National Balance Sheet of any country gives valuable insight into the Current Account Balance, Trade Balance and Capital Flow, information useful in understanding pressures to exchange rates. But because this report comes a full year after the period for which it reports, it rarely if ever moves the market on release.
