macroeconomics
Macroeconomics studies the overall aspects and workings of a national economy such as total output (gross domestic product, GDP), total employment, the unemployment rate, inflation, and overall economic growth. The distinction between macroeconomics and microeconomics can be described in terms of large-scale vs.small scale. Macroeconomics glosses over details within the markets, such as individual goods and services and instead focuses on the behavior of the aggregate economy.
