consumer

User of goods.

Goods consist of both products and services. This term refers to their personal use, excluding purchases made by businesses for manufacturing or resale purposes. It may also exclude the purchaser of the products/services if they are not ultimately also the user. For example, while an owner buys food for its pets, the pets are technically the consumers because they are ultimately its users. Similarly, although a builder may purchase materials to build a house, it is the person who buys the completed house that is considered the consumer. The builder is merely an interim user.
