asset management account

Record of financial transactions which is held in a brokerage house.

Also known as 'central asset accounts.' This includes both banking and brokerage services and allows checking, a debit or credit card, automatic transfer of excess funds into a money management account, and margin loans. This is advantageous for investors because of the potential for a greater return than from regular savings and checking accounts through the placement of deposited money in a money market fund. In this way the functions of banking and investing are consolidated into one institution.
